Testimony about God’s Healing and Blessings

Hi Pastor Reece and Sarah,
I just wanted to let you know about my 13 year old granddaughter Caylee.  When we first moved here she came with me to church and she was 3 at the time.   In October of last year, we found out she had a very fast growing cancer.  it was a form of Hodgkin lymphoma.  In a matter of months the tumor in her neck went from a marble size to the size of a soft ball.  Caylee was in the hospital from oct. 15 – nov. 7, 2008 Caylee had 4 rounds of chemo, and 2 rounds of radiation.  I found out a couple of weeks ago, Caylee is now cancer free.  The make a wish foundation is sending her family to Hawaii for a week all expenses paid.  Caylee was also able to maintain her grades, (A and B’s) and will be going in to 9 grade in sept.  For Caylee the best part is, she is so good in math that she will taking high school algebra, and get high school credit.  And to top it all off, Caylee was interviewed for Extreme Makeover Home Edition so they may get a new house as well.  I love to see how the Lord turns thing around.  The Lord kept telling me Ps.91, that HE is holding her in the palm of his hand and will not let her go.  I had peace through the whole thing, I also had many people praying for Caylee. I already told our prayer team the good news.  The Lord went so far above just healing her, HE gave wonderful gifts as well.

Thank you for your time,
Thula Kekos

Financial Peace University update and testimony

This was the update sent from Jeff and Paula who run our Financial Peace University classes here at ORCC as well as a testimony from a couple who had taken the class and was seeing results!.

Hello Orchard Road Family!

This past week, we were pleased to graduate the fourth FPU class.  Here are the debt retirement and savings figures that occurred during this class:

Total debt retired: $26,411
Total saved in savings accounts: $72,116
Total change in financial position: $98,527 (debt retired + savings)

Debt retired per family that had debt when they started class: $2,032
Total saved in savings accounts per family: $4,808

Total change in financial position (debt + saving) per family: $6,840

Families that enrolled: 24
Families that finished: 20

This was the first class that saved more in savings accounts than they retired in debt.

Here are the cumulative stats for all four FPU classes held to date:
Total debt retired: $425,140
Total saved in savings accounts: $218,621
Total change in financial position: $643,761 (debt retired + savings)

Families that enrolled: 119
Families that finished: 93

Paula and I wanted to once again thank you for the opportunity to serve at ORCC.  Thanks to your continued prayers, we had a spiritual breakthrough this time.  We had the best attitudes in this class despite the worst economic conditions.  It was common to hear laughing break out in the small groups!  It’s great when people can laugh their way through the desert knowing that the Lord is taking care of them.  We also had a number of people attend who had attended prior classes.  They like the accountability and fellowship that the small groups offer.

We also keep hearing from people that have been through previous classes.  Here is an email we received earlier this week from the Earley’s:

Hi Jeff,

If you remember I wrote a letter two months ago explaining our progress on the first few baby steps which included rearranging our insurance, paying off the car, a couple of credit card balances and other commercial accounts.  Since then, the house is refinanced at 4.4%, credit cards are history and a working budget is in sight.  Additional benefits include a growing sense of Financial Peace and confidence to be bolder in just about everything we approach.  Real teamwork and non-defensive communication in the marriage is at an all time high.

All totaled, we have eliminated over $1500/Mo in unnecessary (and unwise) commitments and are much better insured.

We have a few miles to go to gain our financial freedom with 6 months of expenses in the bank and regular investment contribution yet to come.  We can see it from here, and are humbly excited and highly encouraged.

Blessings to you all. The same awaits you.

Steve and Claudia

Last of all, we are enthusiastically planning to start the next class in September.  We are considering either a Monday or Thursday night this time so that the musicians and support staff can attend.  I’ll send out a proposed schedule in early June.

God Bless
Jeff & Paula

Community Outreach of ORCC is helping lives!!

James said that faith without the corresponding works that confirm the sincerity of that faith are dead or worthless. God asks each of us to love our neighbor as ourselves and consider their needs as well as our own. One of the most basic of human needs is food. Although we live in the wealthiest nation to ever exist there are still thousands of families in the Metro Denver area who are without the basic necessities of life. Each week the Orchard Road food bank provides food and assistance to families in need.
One of the consequences of the current economic downturn is that the demand for this ministry has increased dramatically. Over the last four months we served 18 families and 79 individuals in January, 26 families and 85 individuals in February, 37 families and 139 individuals in March, and 38 families and 129 individuals so far in April. This support is only possible because of the faithful giving of our members and we thank you very much for your support. We would also like to ask your ongoing assistance to restock our supplies as they are growing low. Please consider bringing a donation of non perishable foods with you to service. You can leave them with our volunteers at the information center.

Thank you again for your help with this vital outreach to our community.
Pastor Reece

Appreciation letter from one of our missionaries

This is an appreciation letter from one of the missionaries that you supported this past year.  Keep up the good work Orchard Road!!

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

This communiqué is poised to thank you all for your support to Dr. Nelson Nnannah’s / Soulwinners Evangelistic Ministries International.

We thank you for your financial and prayer support for 2008/2009, your support went a long way to bringing food, clothes and medications to suffering children, widows, and less privileged people in Nigeria.  Also you helped us to plant churches among unreached people groups in the villages of Nigeria. So far we have planted 20 local churches, supporting 20 village pastors and in 2008-2009, done 5 big medical outreaches.

This is just to say thank you for obeying the Holy Spirit and supporting us. yes we have gone to the field but would have not made it if you did not send us with your support.  Again, thank you so much for supporting us and we look forward to doing even better this year with your prayers and support.

God bless you

Dr. Nelson Nnannah

heather bronco’s new job testimony

Before I was let go at Bellco, I met with an old friend who used to work at Bellco. She told me about a position at her work that would be a perfect fit for me. She said that she already spoke with her HR department and put in a good word for me.  I wasn’t certain, at the time, if I wanted to leave my current job yet, so I told her that I would think about it.
That very next week, I was let go. I called her and told her I was interested in the position. She said that she had a meeting about it that next Monday and for me to apply over the weekend so they would have my information on file. I did, and that next Tuesday, I had a interview and started that very next Monday as a temp!!
During the first 2 weeks that I was in training, the girl that trained me was so impressed by my knowledge, expertise and how quickly I caught on, she told her management about me. They decided that they didn’t want me working in the department I was in as a temp but wanted me working in THEIR department permanently! They said that they would offer me the position if I wanted it. I weighed my options and decided (in all of 2 seconds) that a permanent job would be better than a temporary one so I told them I would take it! This new job position is more pay, better hours, and is something that I am excited to do!
Also, since I am still being paid my 2 weeks notice from my old job, I received double paychecks AND my 3 weeks vacation that I accrued!!!! CHA-CHING!!!!! Not only did God provide for me during the time I was unemployed, He went ABOVE AND BEYOND that!! I was able to payoff some debt that I had been asking God to help me with, which… getting let go wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, but hey… the debt is paid!!!  I feel so blessed!!

Holla!!

Message from Pastor Reece

These are challenging times but know that God is faithful. As we pray, seek his will, do our best and trust him God will answer our petitions. Faith pleases God because it honors God. So stay in faith! He’s worth your trust.
